Ocushield, well-known for their blue light protection products, developed an innovative Remote Eye Screening Tool that allows users to test various aspects of their vision at home. The tool assesses critical eye health indicators like visual acuity, contrast sensitivity, and colour vision. However, the tool’s user experience was not optimised for mobile devices, which led to a high drop-off rate - 50% of users were abandoning the journey on the landing and sign-up pages.

There were also deeper user psychology concerns: people worry about the accuracy of an online test compared to an in-person visit to an optician. This created a barrier to full user engagement. Ocushield needed to create a more trustworthy, engaging, and mobile-friendly experience to ensure users would complete the test.

By blending digital convenience with the visual cues of a real-world eye exam, we reassured users of the tool’s reliability while emphasising the ease of taking the test from home. This approach bridged the gap between digital and physical care, creating a more seamless and credible user experience.
